Patney attends the Rotorua GP Conference

We attended the annual GP Conference in Rotorua this past weekend.

GP Conference Patney sleep positioner attends annual event - anti-snore solution
Rhonda from NZ Doctor trying out the Patney at the Rotorua GP Conference

The conference attracts a wide range of general practitioners and nurses, with a total attendance of around 1,000-1,200 GPs, RNs and Practice Managers. Attending this event allowed us to engage with a vast number of health care professionals on an intimate level and they were able to touch, try and discuss our anti-snore sleep positioner.

From our sleep positioners first iteration, it has taken over 4 years to design and develop it before bringing it to market – there’s a lot of design, testing, blood, sweat and tears gone into its development. An important part of this was conducting an independent verification study on its effectiveness, with the WellSleep Centre, Otago University. This study was led by Dr Angela Campbell. It’s important for us to engage with health care professionals face-to-face, so we can listen to the issues they and their patients have around snoring and to inform them about how and why the Patney sleep positioner works and is different to what is currently available on the market.

It was reassuring to connect with a wide range of delegates interested in hearing about Patney, a new non-invasive, anti-snore solution available to help their patients. In the independent study we conducted, we had positive results from patients who had mild / medium sleep apnea and who were habitual snorer. Over the years, through our testing programmes and in the past few months we’ve received countless amounts of feedback from people who are very pleased they’ve discovered us.

The study proved the effectiveness of the Patney Sleep Positioner in reducing snoring in a population of habitual snorers and/or mild sleep apnea patients – the results were really encouraging, they showed:

  • Patney improved sleep quality
  • Bed partners reported less restlessness, less snoring and improved sleep
  • 89% of the partners of the people who completed the study reported a reduction in their partner's snoring when using the Patney sleep positioner

So many people put up with the ramifications of a poor night’s sleep because they haven’t found or not looked for a solution, because they haven’t been medically diagnosed with something bad enough - our hope is that we can help these people. After all, 40% of people do snore. Further information about our anti-snore sleep positioner.
